What are some ways to promote your ebooks? Have any tips, please list them.
Website
My Space
Online booksigning- Schedule a day to hold this in a chat room, preferably if we had a chat room set up here at Stonehedge. And we could have more than one author at the booksigning. It would give the readers a chance to ask the authors questions about their books and questions about the authors.
Having a Book Trailer set up on You Tube
Any more suggestions? Thanks!
Mac~

I have a very exclusive tech buddy who knows all. She supports an entire corporation's system. When she rebuilds my machine, she makes certain, that like at her job, my computer cannot go to address with 'my space' in the addy. Myspace is riddled with active viruses. Readers may not thank you for having their computers damaged.
Take care.

I was on MySpace before, but I cancelled my membership. You're right about how riddled it is with viruses. I mentioned that in the list above, because so many authors swear by it. I for one do not trust it.

Never used MySpace either, stayed away from the whole social networking thing. Facebook isn't much better, always activating unpleasant features that track everything you do and otherwise just trying to sell your information to the highest bidder. Here's my own list of ideas I'll just rattle them out so it might overlap with your own.
Website
Blog
Video trailers
Interviews
Virtual Book Tour (other writers host you on their blogs)
Book Review Websites (I've been trying to find some that aren't after paper books)
Giving Free Copies as prizes
News Letter
note: a blog can function like a newsletter, people can subscribe to the RSS feed.
Subbing short stories to key markets (paying or otherwise)
Chat Room Book Signing
Writing a feature article about the book
Like the the making of documentaries you see on tv or rather than give too much away write about the world the story is sett in - really whatever gives you an excuse to write about it. Then post in places like Squidoo.com
He hurled the ball of fire at her. She merely caught it as if it were just a ball, and looked at it curiously.
“It is a very pretty fireball,” she said with a smile, before smiting it into nothingness with a flick of her hand.

Graeme, these are great! I do have a question. How do you get other authors to invite you to do an interview on their blogs? I've been wondering this for a while. That would certainly help the book ratings!
I'd also like to thank you for the email you sent me. I wish you the best also!

I smear my authors' covers, names and retail links everywhere I belong online, and put in a good word. I caught a guy reading the back of a sci-fi novel in the grocery store the other day, told him about Brian and Graeme.
He was like, "So how do you know about them? Have you read them?"
I replied, "I edited them." Then, walked away.
I saw him at the checkout and he didn't have the other book.
Heheheheheh. I be the book mafia.

Thanks for the 'plug' Kristina. Let's hope he went right home and ordered A Binary Convergence.
Keep up the great work. We'll have to start calling you 'The Godmother'.

Thanks for the plug Kristina
Mac, I have no idea, although I'd personally be more than happy to host you on my blog. Anyone else? Not sure if Brian has a blog... oh well we can sort something out.
Hope you're all enjoying the holidays?
Best Wishes
Graeme

WOW! Tose ideas rock! I like them! I don't, however, have a blog or a webspace other than photobucket. I'm not really sitting aon a lot of funds so if anyone knows of places that do free websites that'd be cool.
And Ms. Dalton? Holy schnikes! That's laying-eth the Smacketh Down!
I KNEW I liked this place!

I purchased my domain name from freewebs, and it's great! No ads, smooth as silk, and easy to figure out. I'm completely HTML-ignorant, and ff I can do it, anybody can. Try it.
Is this the place to post book trailers? Not sure, and don't want to post the link to my YouTube video in the wrong place. You can also find it at my website, www.lyndahales.com.
I'm not much for networking and social sites, either. I'm shy and never have much to say, thus no blog, but my daughter made me make up a Myspace page just two nights ago. I have Norton and plenty of anti-spyware/adware software, so I'm not worried about viruses, more about weirdos coming out of the woodwork. First time I get one of those, I'm shutting it down.
Hey, I tried to upload my book cover to the "submit photo" page, but it wouldn't take my .jpeg image. What gives? It's small enough. ???
Any further ideas on getting my website name and video out there sure helps! More, please!

Size shouldn't normally matter (yes another man is saying that) for the image, and if it's a .jpg there shouldn't be a problem at all. Tell you what, send me the image, I can resize and doctor it up, if you like, and I'll send it back to you. I believe our good friend Graeme is even better with graphics too, you can always give him a heads up as well I think (there I go again!)

I have started posting and recruiting readers on AdultFanFiction.net under the originals. In only about 48 hours I have had a combined hit count of almost seven hundred.
That's A LOT of free advertising.

You called yourself something alongthe lines of a smutty something-or-other and I tried to tell you that there was a difference between smut and romance/erotica. I changed my mind just for you...you are a smut peddler and wreaking havoc on those twisted little sex-crazed minds.
